3000 Cancer Survivors Everyday

Jan 9, 2024

As per the American Cancer Society report, 1.7 million Americans are diagnosed with cancer every year. Nearly 600,000 per year die due to cancer. And 1.1 millions will survive cancer.

That means, statistically speaking, approximately 3000 people will be told today that they’re cancer free. Imagine the arduous journey they must have taken to fight this disease. All the ups and downs. The turmoil around them – their family and friends. The uncertainty.

Imagine the joy those 3000 people will feel when given the news that they’re cancer free. And their family. And their friends.

They’ll go on to do and experience all sorts of things.

Some of them may be able to witness their daughter get married.

Or see their son graduate.

Or see the first grandchild who’s not even born yet.

Or become an organ donor and save another life.

Or become an endurance athlete.

Or…. just go on to have a simple life where they’ll be more joyful and joy to be around.

Or a combination of above or a lot of other things.

Due to the efforts of numerous people over the decades and their support system, they’ll get a second chance at life. If you’ve had an opportunity to work in the Oncology field in any way, count yourself lucky and I hope you’re as proud of your work as I am. Because 3000 cancer survivors, their families, friends, and well-wishers will thank you and send you blessings today, even if they don’t know you.

And that’s enough for me today.
