The Pharma Do Cure – Many Diseases, Permanently!

“I’m telling you, the pharma companies make money by treating a disease, not curing.”

How many times have we heard the above or some sort of variation of the above from family, friends, and comedians? For the record, that stopped being funny a long time ago. What is particularly interesting is that in this day and age where the information is everywhere, some people can still believe in nonsense like this. I saw a bumper sticker some time back that said “Happiness is a choice.” There has to be another bumper sticker that says “Ignorance is a choice” and we all know few people who need to put that thing on their car.

Let’s just look at one example of how the pharma is permanently curing diseases – vaccines. Vaccine is a biological compound that provides an active acquired immunity against a particular disease. In other words, a microorganism in a non-toxic dosage is given to a person so that the body’s immune system will recognize, develop, and destroy the disease causing microorganism. Kind of like how the kings in the old times used to acquire immunity against certain poisons by consuming it a little bit over a period of time. Vaccines are more scientific and less expensive than the king-poison scenario.

There should be a statue of Jonas Salk in every town in the world. The chances are that you and I are alive because our ancestors survived due to the polio vaccine.

The WHO lists 26 diseases for which vaccines are available. In other words, the diseases for which there is a permanent cure available and developed by the scientists and the pharma industry.

Maybe it’s partially the pharma companies’ fault for not articulating their side of the story, but what’s new? In the absence of your voice, the other will direct the narrative and that’s when people believe jokes as a scientific fact. If we don’t explain how we cure the diseases for good, there is no reason for the public to know that. Wonder when that will happen.
